Permian Resources Makes Debut on Forbes Global 2000
Maybe not a landing on the cover of The Rolling Stone, but Midland, Texas-based Permian Resources (PR) has debuted on the Forbes Global 2000 and that’s something to celebrate for a youngin’ founded in 2022. Co-CEOs Will Hickey and James Walter have steadily built a pure-play powerhouse, becoming the basin’s second-largest operator and a Delaware dynamo. And between their thirty-something youth and acquisition savvy, the duo has also become something of energy media darlings.
Reese Energy Consulting today is following the latest from Forbes, which headlines Permian Resources a fast-growing standout among its independent Permian peers and naming it, “The most inspirational new oil company.” PR debuted at #1762 on the list of Forbes Global 2000. Well, of course. PR’s backstory has everything but Julia Roberts in a starring role: childhood friends, business partners, moving family units from upper echelon Dallas to West Texas Midland, and finding wild success. PR continues to demonstrate its prowess to snap up assets when the fit and timing are just right while exercising its downturn strategy to maintain a rock-solid balance sheet.
We congratulate Permian Resources on its Forbes listing. Julia Roberts was unavailable for comment.
