The Magnificent Three
Meet Orville Mertins, Cliff Stover, and Philip Lawrence. Three intrepid engineers right at home in the trenches no matter which basin calls them there. With a combined 123 years of midstream field experience in gas measurement, sampling, and commissioning natural gas assets just for starters, these are the hound dogs that producers want on an auditing project to sniff out areas where they could be losing revenues. Reese Energy Consulting today spotlights our Magnificent Three—and no doubt their high-mileage trucks—always up for a road trip to the next well, compressor station, gas plant, or newbuild G&P site.
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of working with Orville, you already know he’s one of the sharpest gas processing experts west of the Pecos. With 45 years of experience under his hard hat, he takes seriously his mission to ensure gas midstream assets exceed operational expectations.
Cliff Stover will bet you a Mexican combo platter with a guacamole chaser to demonstrate how wells and gas plants can be losing producers money every day. He literally wrote the book on Gas Measurement and Sampling for Texaco. Whether Cliff is heading up a large field and commercial audit in the Anadarko to confirm accurate payments and fees in midstream contracts, or engineering and designing a greenfield midstream complex in the Permian Delaware, Cliff is The Man with a Plan.
Philip joined REC’s auditing team in August, bringing with him 38 years of expertise in liquid and gas flow measurement auditing. This Englishman, who now calls Okla., home, holds five patents for flow metering devices, has authored 36 publications and presentations on flow metering around the world, and continues to earn international recognition with his latest designation of European Engineer from Engineers Europe.
This is how we help producers make hit records
