Yep, it’s that time again when a broad sweep of global energy leaders come together to share their perspectives on energies old and new, and how they’re responding to ensure the world remains fully energized while saving the planet in the process. Welcome to CERAWeek in Houston, now day two through Friday, where a lineup of international energy rockstars makes their case and woos investors to get behind their plans going forward. Discussions include markets, climate, technology, and geopolitics. A fun grab that requires a back seat for mumbling and bag of popcorn to fully enjoy.

Reese Energy Consulting today is following the latest from CERAWeek, where Saudi’s ARAMCO chief scoffed at the idea that oil and gas was nearing a doomsday bunker, describing a phase-out as a “fantasy” while global consumption for both continues to increase and likely grow through 2045. In his presentation originally titled, “Don’t Be Silly, We’re the World’s Largest Oil Company and This Isn’t Our First Rodeo with a Bull Situation,” CEO Amin Nasser called for an energy transition reset focused on reducing emissions, not fossil fuels, and adding renewables and new energy technologies where they make sense.

CERAWeek runs from March 18-24 with speakers that include Bill Gates on Thursday, EQT’s Toby Rice, Exxon CEO Darren Woods, ConocoPhillips CEO Ryan Lance, Hess CEO John Hess, Hunt Energy CEO Hunter Hunt, Freeport LNG CEO Michael Smith and so many more, including all the dignitaries and politicians you can shake a stick at. Sticks not provided at the door so bring your own.
