Storms in Oklahoma this Spring have shown little mercy. Torrential rains, straight-line winds, hail, and as many as 61 tornados ripped through the state in May creating historic flooding we’re still witnessing. Reese Energy Consulting today spotlights Tulsa-based ONEOK, which just contributed $1 million for eastern Oklahoma disaster and flood relief efforts. The funds will go toward ONEOK employees and their families who’ve been displaced from their homes, as well as in nearby communities impacted by the recent storms. Founded in 1906—a year before statehood—ONEOK today is one of the nation’s leading midstream services providers, operating a 38,000-mile network of natural gas and NGL pipelines and systems in some of the nation’s most prolific shale plays. With a $6 billion growth program now in full swing, ONEOK estimates adding 800 MMCF/D of natural gas processing capacity and 1.5 BCF/D of gas transportation capacity in these areas. For REC, ONEOK meets every criteria of exemplary corporate character from the inside out, and we’ll be proud to call them friend long after the storms become a memory.
