The Reese Energy Consulting team this week is working on several new client projects that absolutely get our motor runnin’. One of these lies in the prolific Oklahoma SCOOP, where we’re developing oil marketing studies that include weighing transportation options and analyzing pricing differentials between the Midcontinent vs Permian. If you’re so inclined to drive from OKC to Kingfisher and Canadian counties along SH 33, you’ll find yourself straddled between the oil-prone SCOOP and STACK in the Anadarko Basin. This is the state’s energy sweet spot where producers bet big for a stake of the multi-layered formations of crude that can only be penetrated by hydraulic fracturing. To present some perspective: So far in April, new-well oil production from the Anadarko has surpassed the Appalachia and Haynesville. New-well gas production has outranked the Permian and Bakken. The horizon is yet to be reached with stack-play geology here, and the exceptional reservoir quality rock continues to beckon producers to further explore. We like that.
